Alan Rudalavage returned to Penn Can Speedway victory lane, breaking a tie with Mike Colsten for sixth on the track’s all time wins list. Starting from the outside of the front row, Rudalavage led every lap in dominating fashion. Through the opening laps Brad Weaver would work the top side, wrestling control of second from Tyler Yeagle.
Doug Polhamus settled into third as Brian Malcolm, Danny Creeden and Kevin Hartnett battled to stay in the top 5. By lap 10 Rudalavage had opened up a half straightaway lead over Weaver, who had another half straight back to third place running Polhamus. Just as Rudalavage began working lap traffic, the 33 of Yeagle slowed coming through turns 3 and 4, and leaving on the hook.
Two laps shy of halfway, the yellow setup a double file restart with Rudalavage electing for the outside lane. Rudalavage launched well, pulling away from Weaver as Malcolm and Hartnett got around Polhamus. A Nick Mady spin in turn 4 led to a single file restart with the field reaching halfway. From there on out it was all “Hollywood” as Weaver battled Hartnett for second in Rudalavage’s mirror. At the line Rudalavage would collect his 35th career Penn Can win with Hartnett, Weaver, Malcolm and Creeden rounding out the top 5.
After a tough week Rudalavage thanked his crew for their hard dedicated work to have the car ready for Friday. Alan would also like to thank his sponsors, Stafursky Auto, Quinn’s Market, Powel’’s Sales, NEP Telephone, Pineline Auto and JPM Motors.
